Sana is a gentle, patient and experienced teacher who breaks down the music and movements so that dancers of all experience levels can participate in this dynamic dance form. Sana shares the name, purpose and ethnic group of each dance. All classes are accompanied by live drumming by Sana's talented brother, nephew and friends. The Bangoura Family is eager to share its rich culture with you!

Fun and easy to follow choreography based in Latin, jazz, hip hop, and even a little Broadway, set to current popular music. But Dance Inspired Fitness is more than a workout. It’s a place where you can let go and have fun! Our class motto is “When in doubt, SHAKE IT!”

Class begins with warm-up exercises to help you build strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination.The rest of class is devoted to learning authentic West African dances and song as well as their history and cultural context.

Nia is a unique combination of nine movement forms drawn from dance, martial arts and healing arts. The form involves moving the entire body in a healthful, sustainable way to sense joy and pleasure, not pain. Nia is for all fitness abilities and all ages. Nia can be an intense aerobic workout or more easy and gentle, depending the level of intensity you bring to the movement. Dress in comfortable clothes, shoes are optional. Bring a water bottle and a mat for the end of class.

dance: Uptown Swing
Weekly classes: Levels 1 and 2 (Beginner Lindy Hop)
Lindy Hop is a partner dance with its origin in 1920’s and 30’s Harlem, New York. It is an African-American dance that brought together many smaller jazz dances that preceded it to become what has been called America's folk dance. Uptown Swing offers Beginner-level swing courses in 4 week sessions. Lessons are progressive, building from week to week (no drop-ins). No partner required - no experience required.
