Presentation Opportunities

cfpa is always seeking new ways to support artists at all stages of development as they deepen their creative practice. Over the years, cfpa has published a quarterly journal of performance studies; coordinated summer art camp series for youth; hosted a cooperative of artists in residence; and offered public workshops with prominent local, national, and international artists.

The goal of all cfpa residencies is:

  • To advance the project of cfpa by supporting and promoting the development of artists at all career stages;
  • To support the building of relationships between artists, across different disciplines, and across experience levels;
  • To bring visibility to the vital performance work happening throughout our community;
  • To create new ways of sparking engagement amongst works of art, artists and audiences;
  • To experiment with building and working within a viable alternative economic model for sustaining art practice as an essential element of healthy community.

Working in Process

Twice a year, cfpa invites applications for a short-term residency with up to three artists/companies at a time. cfpa offers free rehearsal space to the artists, provides facilitation and mentorship, and hosts a public performance and facilitated audience conversation.

POP-UP Local Art Sale

We may be the Center for PERFORMING arts, but that doesn’t mean we are uninterested in visual arts. Once a year, on Small Business Saturday (the Saturday after Thanksgiving), we curate a slate of 6-10 local visual artists of various disciplines, who bring items they have created to cfpa for a one-day sale. It’s a great opportunity to support local art, chat with neighbors over snacks and cider, and get a jump on your holiday shopping. Applications to sell work are available mid-Fall.
