CFPA Announces Artists for Pop-Up Art Sale

CFPA Minneapolis is excited to announce the roster of visual artists who will be selling their work at our Pop-Up Art Sale on Small Business Saturday, November 25th, 2017, from 10 am – 4 pm.

Browse for gifts, connect with neighbors, and learn more about the artists living and working in South Minneapolis. Artworks at all price points will be available for sale. The Center for Performing Arts is dedicated to the vitality of the creative process and supports practitioners from a range of traditions to teach, learn, workshop, and practice. Free parking available across the street in the Lake Country School lot.


Silvia Ibanez Brown: Handmade Silver Jewelry

Silvia was born, raised, and studied art in Santiago de Chile. She works in prints, precious metal jewelry, ceramics, and mixed media, experimenting with combinations of silver tones and unique natural stones.  She works as art teacher in the Minneapolis Public School system.


Jennifer Kunin: Handmade Paper Fine Art and Gifts
Jennifer is a veteran artist and teacher, working across many media (painting, papermaking, printing, mosaic, collage, batik) to offer art as a path to self-discovery and healing. She has created a variety of programs that teach art for all ages.






Holly Oehme: Fluid Art (Abstract Mixed Media Paintings)
Holly generates other-worldly settings that capture moments of transformation, using a mixed media approach including acrylics and water. She has a MSEd. in Educational Psychology and works as an early childhood educator.


Karla Rydrych: Hand-dyed Textile Gifts and Upcycled Metal Ornaments
Karla has lived and worked in Minnesota her entire life. She makes art from reclaimed materials, inspired by her love for designs and materials from the past. Her work is available in several stores under the brand Local Bandit.







Armen Stromquist: Digital Art Prints
Armen is a mathematician and designer. Simple shapes are hand-drawn and transformed via mathematical concepts into 2-D designs. These drawings are recreated via code in Python to produce a digital image, and further edited to create scalable symmetrical images of different background and line color combinations.


Barbara Thomas: Paintings
Barbara is a self-taught acrylic painter and illustrator. She has found freedom in abstract forms, even those featuring people. In 2012, Barbara collaborated with 25 other artists to create murals at MLK Park in Kingfield. She recently participated in the Northside ARTFLOW, and is a member of  TAWU/ROHO Collective.


Kristin Wornson: Handmade Jewelry
Kristin uses her background in field biology to share her love of wild things and wild places. She uses plant material collected on forests walks, dives in the ocean, travel to remote places & urban landscapes – set against brightly colored glass.


Jake Zeiher: Ceramics
Jake grew up on a farm outside of Henderson, MN. He makes artwork and pottery out of his South Minneapolis basement studio, and fires his anagama wood-fired kiln in Henderson each year. Jake’s work is natural and organic, which suits his woodfire process.
